Our firm will travel to your prospective state to assist you with the construction of your very own Assisted Living Facility or Personal Care Home. • Home Start-Up Costs - Where will I get the money needed for my Assisted Living facility? Discussion of loans, and grants.
• Licensing Requirements and Process - Who do you contact for the requirements and what you have to do to meet those requirements.
• Inspections - Understanding the Inspection process, and the different people involved with them. Deficiencies and plan of corrections, if cited.
• Costs and Fees - Assessing the amount you are willing to spend and keep within a budget.
• Managing Your Facility - Understanding the process of hiring potential employees, how many are needed, and how to retain them. We offer advice on pre-screening potential employees such as: Criminal Background Checks, Current License, Drug Tests, and Acts 33/34.
• Logs and Forms - We will explain how to keep your logs on everything, and forms that you must keep in your clients files as well as what needs to be posted in a conspicuous area of your facility.
• Insurance issues - Discuss the relevance of having insurance, and how to use insurance policies as a way of potential clients to pay.
• State Assistance - We will explain, (depending on the state) the different state supplemental insurances offered. (SSI)

• Converting your residence - How much space do you have, and how you can convert your home at a fraction of the costs.
• Standard Requirements - What are the basic requirements to begin the process (each state will vary).
• Confidentiality Issues - Explain the importance of maintaining confidential issues regarding residents, families, etc. Also, teaching your staff to recognize the importance of this issue and the consequences of breaching confidential issues.
• Enhanced Issues - Suggestions for other issues such as: Fire escape plan, Personal documents such as: POA, Guardian, Living Wills, Wills, whom to contact in case of emergency etc.

• Meals and Activities - How to use community resources and integrate them with your clients. How to plan meals and activities using such resources.
• Residents' Rights and Responsibilities - Know what rights residents are entitled to and their responsibility while residing at your facility.

• Resident Qualification and Screening - Explain the process of screening your residents before the can enter your facility. Some states require a doctor referring them to your home. Also, how to assess their needs as to what you plan to offer them.
• Pricing Your Services - We will help you to determine costs of your services based on 1) how many beds you have available; 2) how many SSI recipients you wish to have; 3) telephone your competitors and see what they are charging.
• Marketing Your Facility - You will learn how to market your facility by using traditional and non-traditional methods and when to have open house for the public.

• Medications - Learn how to "assist" with giving residents their medications on time, explaining what they are, and the importance of taking them as prescribed by the doctor also how to store medications and know the difference between medications. (Example: diabetics insulin has to be refrigerated and locked in a secure area).
• Doctor Visits - Know how you plan on transporting your residents to and from appointments, know what to take with you on the trip, and how to document any changes in medications.
